CVVFA member and Blue Ridge Fire and Rescue Deputy Chief Rob Biesecker was laid to rest after a short sudden illness. Rob was elected as Chief at Blue Ridge effective January 1. Sadly he was never able to take office. Rob also served as a career driver for the Waynesboro PA Fire Department.Numerous CVVFA companies participated in the funeral service. In the tradition of the Association, member companies answered the call for assistance to Blue Ridge and Waynesboro providing coverage and assisting with the funeral. Halfway (MD) Truck 26 flew the flag at the church. Charlie Rouss Fire Company (VA) provided transfer coverage during Monday nights viewing for Blue Ridge. The stand-by crew was led by CVVFA member Rouss Deputy Chief Ryan Baldwin and included other CVVFA members. CVVFA first VP Chief Allen Baldwin coordinated the procession and honors during very inclement weather. Our thoughts and prayers are with the Biesecker family along with our brothers and sisters at Blue Ridge and Waynesboro. Few if any associations can bring together members from several states to assist during times of trouble. We’ve have been doing just that for 116 years.
