Plan now to attend the Fall Meeting of the CVVFA (UPDATED 9/23/23)

President David Lewis has scheduled the Fall Meeting of the CVVFA to be held on October 14-15, hosted by the Odenton Volunteer Fire Company, 1425 Annapolis Road, Odenton, MD 21113.  Please plan to attend this meeting as it will provide the opportunity to discuss future actions for our Association and for each committee to present progress on their goals for the coming year.

A hotel block has been reserved at the Townplace Suites by Marriott – Ft. Meade National Business Park, 120 National Business Parkway, Annapolis Junction, Maryland.  Rooms are being held under the booking of CVVFA  with a rate of $109 per night plus tax.  This rate is guaranteed through September 22 so it is recommended that you book now if you are planning to stay over Friday and/or Saturday night.  To book, go to Marriott.com/BWITF and select “Special Rates” and then “Group Code” and use “CVVFA” as the code.

Our meeting activities will begin on Saturday at 12pm noon, with a hosted lunch at Odenton VFC, followed by a town hall discussion of our committee structure and proposed new alignment. We will also have a report from the task group that is reviewing the actions needed to implement a name change from “Firemen’s” to “Firefighters”.

I will ask each committee to meet Saturday afternoon or Sunday morning and be prepared to identify at least one goal for the year during your report-out at the meeting.

Following Saturday’s meeting, we will move to a no-host meet-and-greet at The Hideaway Restaurant, 1429 Odenton Road, Odenton, MD.  Ordering will be on-your-own off the menu and an area has been reserved for CVVFA.  We will continue our social activities in the breakfast area of the hotel after dinner.

Sunday: Continental breakfast at 8, meeting at 9 at the fire house. Plans are to conclude with a light lunch before allowing everyone to travel home.
