Spring Meeting 5- Things You Need to Know

Thank you to the Citizen’s Fire Company No. 1 for hosting CVVFA for the Spring 2024 meeting. Members enjoyed fantastic presentations from Director Joe Kroboth on the Emergency Responder Safety Institute and Richard Brooks on electric and autonomous vehicles.

  • Logo Refresh

The members officially voted for the new logo bearing the name Cumberland Valley Volunteer Firefighters Association. Keep your eyes open for this logo to begin to appear on the website, Facebook page and other marketing avenues.

 

  • Bylaw changes to be voted on at the Convention
    During the Fall meeting, President Lewis proposed the name change as well as a committee restructure that needs bylaw approval. During the Spring meeting, the first reading of these changes was completed. You can read the changes here before the vote at Convention in August.
  • Deadline for scholarships and awards – May 1
    The scholarship and award applications are open. Please share the links for the scholarships and awards with local schools and fire companies. Links and submission information can be found at org.

  • Submit your letter of intent by June 15!
    If you are interested in serving on CVVFA’s Board next year? You need to submit your letter of intent to Director Candice McDonald no later than June 15. Email your letter to her at Candice@successuplife.com.
  • 123rd Annual Convention
    The 123rd Annual Convention will be on July 31st to August 3rd in Halfway, MD, hosted by the Volunteer Fire Company of Halfway. There is a room block at Country Inn and Suite (17612 Valley Mall Road, Hagerstown, MD 21740). Reservations can be made by calling 301-582-5003 and mention CVVFA. Additional information regarding the schedule will be released as the date approaches.
