Todd Leiss is a Traffic Incident Management Specialist at Jacobs Engineering. He retired in July 2023, having served as the Traffic Incident & Emergency Management (TIM) Supervisor for the Pennsylvania Turnpike Commission (PTC). His prior roles included being the PTC Traffic Incident Management Coordinator and Operations Center Duty Officer. Todd's career also includes experience as an emergency dispatcher, a volunteer firefighter, an emergency medical technician, and a hazardous material team member. He is Wreckmaster 6/7A certified.
Throughout his career, Todd has received numerous accolades, including being named the 2018 ITS-Pennsylvania Person of the Year, the 2019 ITS-Pennsylvania Project of the Year, the 2019 CVVFA Highway Safety Award winner, the 2020 SCTF Mrs. Smith Award Winner for Highway Safety, the 2022 Pennsylvania Turnpike “Turnpiker” of the Year, and the 2024 Milton Hershey School Alumni Community Service Award recipient for his contributions to roadway safety.
Currently, Todd serves as the Deputy Director of Training for the Emergency Responder Safety Institute (ERSI) at Respondersafety.com and is the founder of TIM Heroes, Inc., a 501c3 non-profit organization dedicated to enhancing emergency responder safety.
